research@WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL

What is research@WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL?

The Faculty of Business Administration has been known as WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL since the beginning of the winter semester 20/21. Internationalization, digitalization and diversification - these are just some of the reasons why OTH Amberg-Weiden has launched the WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL. In particular, the progressive internationalization and the taking up of digital future topics as well as current research results will thus become more visible to the outside world.

The hybrid lecture series has established itself with one event per month and is always continued on the last Tuesday of the month. Attendance is open to all interested parties. So feel free to participate in person on campus or via the link provided under Participation in the event. We look forward to welcoming you.

Program from 30th January, 2024

Hannah Winter (M.Sc.), a graduate of the Master's program in Applied Business Psychology, will deliver a presentation on her thesis titled "Applicant Faking: Comparing Susceptibility and Psychophysiological Effects of the Multidimensional Forced-Choice and the Rating Scale Format of the Kienbaum Personality Inventory." The presentation will be conducted in the English language.

How do applicant faking, personality assessment formats, and their psychophysiological effects interrelate? And how can insights from studying applicant faking be utilized to refine personality assessments and enhance accuracy?

Hannah Winter (M.Sc.) explored these questions in her research and affirmed the relevance of understanding applicant faking in contemporary contexts. Employing a Mixed Methods approach, she analyzed the correlations between susceptibility to faking, psychophysiological responses, and the choice of personality assessment formats. This encompassed conducting an online survey and engaging in focused group discussions. The insights gained facilitated the derivation of tailored recommendations, both at an individual and organizational level, aiming to address susceptibility to faking and refine personality assessment methodologies for more accurate results.
