Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
recently a new regional group of the association "Technik ohne Grenzen e.V." was founded in Weiden in cooperation with the university.
As the leader of this group, I would like to briefly introduce the association and our projects to you.
The aim of the association is to improve living conditions in developing countries. In the areas of water, energy, waste, education and agroforestry, we develop the most cost-effective technical solutions to acute problems. These include, for example, drinking water wells, kilns for burning hospital waste or hospital support.
However, it is important that there is a need for the things. Therefore, before each project, an intensive exchange with contact persons on site is carried out to find out which products are really needed. Only then does the development phase begin, tailored to the conditions and requirements of the location.
The knowledge is then passed on locally by the project team to the local people so that they can continue the projects independently and incorporate them into their everyday lives.
There has been a regional group in Amberg for some time, currently under the leadership of Magnus Dunskus (email@example.com). Recent projects have included incinerators for hospital waste and solar stoves for cooking without wood.
In Weiden, the focus will be on hospital support. This means that medical devices will be developed according to the needs of hospitals in developing countries. However, projects can also be implemented in other areas if the members are interested.
Anyone who is interested in voluntary work and intercultural exchange can join. Students of any discipline are welcome. Technical interest would be great, but is not absolutely necessary.
If you would like to support us, we would be happy if you could briefly mention us in one of your next lectures. The Weiden group meets on Wednesday in the calendar weeks 47 (room HS140), 49 (room HS 019) and 51 (room HS 019) at 2 pm. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact my deputy Nico Spörl (firstname.lastname@example.org) and me (email@example.com).
Thank you very much for your help!
With kind regards
