  • O/HUB: Save the date for O/HUB talk on team building

    Start-up consulting

    The O/HUB Talk will take place again on Monday, June 10. Three experts will discuss the do's and don'ts of team development.

    Starting at 6 p.m. in the S@ON InnovationsLab (first floor ehouse on the Weiden campus), the topic will be “team building” and what makes successful teams in start-ups and companies.

    The three experts are:

    • Hans-Jörg Schön, Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Oberpfalz Nord
    • Prof. Gabriele Murry, Head of the Business Psychology course as an organizational and social psychologist
    • Thomas Völkl, Managing Director of Co-Workingspace Kemnath

    • For last-minute decision-makers: The Amberg Economic Development Agency invites you to the start-up network tomorrow, 14.05.2024, from 5 pm. In addition to a presentation of YOUKI, an Amberg blockchain start-up, there will also be the opportunity to present your own projects in a pitch. The event starts at 17:30 at Untere Nabburger Straße 10. Registration is still possible at https://wifam.de/2024/03/12/gruendungsnetzwerk-youki/.
    • (Paused on 23.05. and 30.05.) For students, university staff and alumni whose ideas are still in the early stages or who are generally interested in the topic of founding a company, we are again offering a virtual initial consultation this week on Thursdays between 1 and 2 pm.   • Online-Workshop "Promotion, ist das etwas für mich?" auf Deutsch

    Liebe Promotionsinteressierte,

    im Namen des Zentrums für Gender und Diversity lade ich Sie herzlich zum Online-Workshop "Promotion, ist das etwas für mich?" ein, der an folgenden zwei Termine (Teilnahme an beiden Termine notwendig) jeweils von 17 bis 19 Uhr stattfindet: 

    • Dienstag 14.5.24
       
    • Donnerstag 23.5.24

    Folgende Inhalte werden im Workshop von Dr. Matthias Rudlof behandelt:


    Selbstorganisation und Selbstmotivation in der Wissenschaft
    o Promotion als eigenständige wissenschaftliche Leistung (Kriterien, Formate)
    o Persönliche Motivation für das Projekt Promotion und berufliche Orientierung
    o Phasen eines längeren Projekts meistern – Strategien der Selbstmotivation bei Moti-
    vationskrisen und anderen Herausforderungen
    o Mindfulness- und Embodiment-Techniken für Selbstzentrierung & Selbstwert
    o Mindset und inneres Team im Arbeitsprozess

    wir suchen engagierte Studierende für die verschiedenen Gremien der Studierendenvertretung! 🔍

    Wir gestalten gemeinsam die Hochschulpolitik mit, organisieren Veranstaltungen, kümmern uns um die Campusgestaltung und PR. Jede*r Studierende kann bei der fakultätsangehörenden Fachschaft, dem studentischen Konvent oder dem Senat mitwirken. Ein Engagement in diesen Gremien bietet nicht nur Einblicke hinter die Kulissen der Hochschule, sondern auch Spaß und eine Menge neuer Kontakte. 🏛️

    Would you like to receive regular information on current events for students, application opportunities for scholarships or additional courses in the areas of soft skills and career entry? Then subscribe to the new categories we have set up for you on the noticeboard. We have also attached an overview of advice and support services at the university for you.

    Welcome back to the summer semester! We hope you had a good first week. We would like to share some information with you at the start of the new semester:

    1. In the attachment you will  find an overview of the various counseling and support services at the university, which you may already have learned about through other channels. If you receive an email from us in the next week regarding the progress of your studies, please don't be alarmed. However, you are more than welcome to make an appointment with us for a consultation - together we will certainly find a way to make the coming semester better for you.

    2. we would also like to briefly introduce you to some categories on the notice board, which you are welcome to subscribe to if you would like to get information about our offers and events:

    Scholarships: Here we provide information about current scholarship announcements, the application periods for the Deutschlandstipendium and planned information events on student financing. If you subscribe to this category, you will never miss an event.

    Study-related course offerings: We regularly organize various additional courses for you, e.g. from the field of soft skills or an event week on application. If you want to stay up to date, subscribe to this category.

    Events/ University Sports: This category provides you with information on events (at the university and beyond) that might be of interest to you as well as on sporting activities, e.g. the annual participation in the Nofi run.

    !!! The Study and Career Service will no longer use the old category "All around studies" in the future, as the new categories can be subscribed to more specifically depending on your interests. So you will get exactly the information you are interested in!!!

  • Going abroad? Appointments for DAAD Language tests

    If you have never attended and passed a language course at our OTH Amberg-Weiden or another university, our language centre offers the possibility to sit an English test twice per semester. Please not that these tests have no Credit Points and are only intended to help you realise a stay abroad (i.e. Erasmus).

    The date for the DAAD English language test in the upcoming summer semester 2024 is:

    • Wed., 27.03.2024 in Amberg from 9.00 Uhr room MB/UT E 024 and
    • Thu.,  25.04.2024 in Weiden from 10.00 Uhr room WTC 1.29

    Please enrol via email for one of these tests.

    please note that renewed verification is now required to continue purchasing a discounted Deutschlandticket.

    You can carry out the verification in your app as follows:

    1. click on Settings (top right-hand corner; shown as a cogwheel)

    2. click on "Proof of authorisation"

    3. select "OTH Weiden-Amberg"

    4. start the verification process via Shibboleth with your OTH e-mail address

    5. the discounted ticket will be offered for purchase under the "Tickets" tab after successful verification

    6. select the ticket by clicking on it, enter your payment details and swipe the "Buy now" button to the right.
