Arrival
By plane
Airport Nuremberg (NUE): After arrival at Nuremberg airport, you first take the subway to Nuremberg main station. From there, you can get to Amberg directly by regional train. If you continue your journey by car, you take the highway A 6 Nürnberg-Heilbronn, exit Amberg-Stadtmitte and follow the road B 299.
Airport Munich (MUC): After arrival at Munich airport, you first take the regional train to Regensburg main station. From there, you can get to Amberg directly by regional train. If you continue your journey by car, you take the highway A 93 Regensburg-Hof, then exit Schwandorf/Amberg and follow the road B 85.
By train
To arrive in Amberg by train, first take the intercity railway network (ICE) to either Nuremberg main station or Regensburg main station. From there, a regional train will take you directly to Amberg. Regional trains to Amberg depart approximately every hour from both, Nuremberg and Regensburg.
By car
If you travel to Amberg from the west and north, take the highway A 6 Nürnberg-Heilbronn, exit Amberg-Stadtmitte and continue on the road B 299. If you arrive from the south via the highway A 93 Regensburg-Hof, exit Schwandorf/Amberg and continue on the road B 85. If you reach Amberg from the east and north via the highway A 6, exit Amberg-Ost and continue on the road B 85.
