German Centre for Digital Tasks in Higher Education Teaching (DZdA)

The DZdA is a nationwide initiative for the sustainable development, provision and maintenance of quality-assured, multilingual digital exercises and examination tasks. The aim is to establish a permanent infrastructure that gives all German universities access to digital tasks using the best available technology – with a focus on STACK, JSXGraph and Moodle.

The DZdA offers teachers on-demand services for creating and adapting high-quality tasks, supported by a central repository that provides didactically tested, taxonomised tasks. In addition, training courses, didactic-pedagogical advice and training programmes are being developed. The establishment of specialised centres – including for task development, didactics, AI innovation, transfer and students – is creating a nationwide teaching architecture that professionalises digital teaching and promotes individualised learning.

In the long term, the DZdA aims to become institutionalised and independent of third-party funding, and sees itself as a driving force for quality, openness and innovation in university teaching.
