External beginners' courses in Weiden at VHS (A1.1, A1.2 and A2.1) starting mid September 2026

Dear IB-students,
For those of you, who have only little knowledge of German, we have some good news!
Together with the VHS and our language centre, we are once more able to offer three levels of beginners' German courses at the vhs in Weiden.
Please note that this will be the last time that this will be tha last time that an A1.1 course will be offered and that this cooperation courses will eventually be running out.It only makes sense chosing one of these three courses, i.e. the one that corresponds to your level of German.
And should you already be advanced in your knowledge of German, then of course the free German courses of our language centre would be suitable for you.
The vhs offers A1.1, A1.2 and A2.1
The OTH language centre offers A2.2 (with the possibility of completing your immatriculartion requirement of A2), B1.1, B1.2 ..... up until C1.1The vhs courses are a special offer for IB students, who do not have A2 knowledge of German and are hence not able to complete their immatriculation with proof of A2 yet.
There is only a limited number of places. So first come, first served.

Liebe Studierende,
zum Wintersemester 2026/2027 startet wieder der Fachkundekurs im Strahlenschutz.
Der Kurs ist vom Bayerischen Landesamt für Umweltschutz als Kurs zum Erwerb der Fachkunde im Strahlenschutz nach den Modulen GH und OG für die Fachkundegruppen S1.1, S1.2, S2.1, S2.2, S1.3, S4.1, S5 und S6.1 der Fachkunderichtlinie Technik nach StrlSchV und nach dem Modul RG für die Fachkundegruppen R3, R4 und R10 der Fachkunderichtlinie Technik nach RöV anerkannt.
Nutzen Sie die Möglichkeit des Angebotes durch die Hochschule, dass Sie sich einen Vorteil für Ihre Bewerbung nach dem Studium gegenüber anderen Bewerbern sichern.
Dazu ein kleines Beispiel:
Der in der Regel einwöchige Kurs kostet Ihren Arbeitgeber später rund 800-1000€. Dazu kommen die Kosten für 5 Übernachtungen, den Fahrtkosten sowie den Ausfall Ihrer Arbeitszeit für eine Woche.
Die OTH bietet Ihnen den Kurs ohne zusätzliche Kosten an. Der Kurs kann ab einer Mindestteilnehmerzahl von 15 Personen durchgeführt werden und ist begrenzt auf 20 Teilnehmer, daher bitte frühzeitig anmelden. Der Kurs ist für Studierende des Bachelor Medizintechnik MZ 4-7 und Master Medizintechnik ME 1-2 vorgesehen. Vorteilhaft sind Kenntnisse aus der Radiologie und Nuklearmedizin, aber nicht zwingend notwendig.Erster Termin: Do., 08.10.2026, 15.45 Uhr im CAE-Labor im WTC (Raum 0.14)
Der Kurs findet immer Donnerstag Nachmittag statt + 3 Termine Donnerstag oder Freitags (Zeit nach Absprache) für Blockpraktika.

This year marks the 7th edition of the Bavarian-Czech Innovation Day, held under the motto “Two Regions. One Future.”
The event focuses on visionary ideas and forward-looking collaboration between Bavaria and the Czech Republic. In addition to inspiring keynote speeches, participants will have the opportunity to present their own startups in a 5-minute pitch and win prizes. The Innovation Day will be interpreted into German and Czech.

Sie stehen kurz vor dem Abschluss eines Bachelorstudiums mit technischen, betriebswirtschaftlichen und integrativen Inhalten und sind noch unsicher ob Sie entweder ein Masterstudium anschließen oder direkt eine berufspraktische Tätigkeit aufnehmen sollen ? Aber warum „entweder … oder …“ und nicht „sowohl … als auch …“ ? Der Masterstudiengang „Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Digital Engineering & Management“ (MWI) wird auch im Teilzeit-Modell angeboten. Dadurch können Sie Ihren Workload pro Semester deutlich reduzieren und parallel z.B. intensiv als Werkstudent/in arbeiten. Und eventuell ergibt sich aus Ihrer berufspraktischen Tätigkeit ja sogar ein passendes Thema für ein sog. Praxisprojekt (kann eines von vier Wahlpflichtmodulen ersetzen) und/oder die Abschlussarbeit. Important information about 24h-access to the library
Due to popular demand, here is all the information about 24-hour access to the library once again:
- You must complete a one-time training session to gain 24-hour access.- This training session takes place at the beginning of every semester and lasts one hour.
- Haven’t completed the training yet but want access now during exam time?
Please stop by the library and schedule an appointment with us. Make sure to allow plenty of time—at least 1 hour!- We can’t promise that you’ll be able to start the training right away when you talk to us.
- It is not enough to simply tell the library staff that you have already completed this training. We keep participant lists and can verify whether you have actually completed it. Please be honest with us.
- Training sessions offered through the library’s Moodle course are unrelated to this training. These sessions are intended to help you prepare for your bachelor’s thesis and do not count as training for 24-hour access.

The application portal for the Deutschlandstipendium is now open for the upcoming funding year (October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027). Application period will close on August 9.
All students who will still be within the standard period of study during the 2026/27 winter semester (typically 7 semesters for a bachelor’s degree and 3 semesters for a master’s degree) are eligible to apply.

Wir begleiten eine szenische Produktion mit einer über 50-jährigen Tradition.
Für das deutsche Fernsehen wurden mehr als 3.000 Folgen produziert.
Über Generationen hinweg hat die Sendung Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauer geprägt und Fernsehgeschichte geschrieben.
In diesem Vortrag werfen wir einen kleinen Blick hinter die Kulissen.
Aus der Perspektive von Ton-Postproduktion und Mischung beleuchten wir die kreativen und technischen Herausforderungen
ihres Entstehungsprozesses: von der ersten Idee über die Produktion und Postproduktion bis hin zur finalen Sendefassung.

Effective immediately and through September 11, 2026, you will no longer be able to order books through the interlibrary loan service. You can find information about alternatives on our website under “Current Notices.”
You can still order copies of articles from journals or books.

The library will soon be switching to a new IT system. As a result, users will face some restrictions on interlibrary loan services.
1. If you need to order interlibrary loans from other libraries in the near future, please place your orders as soon as possible. The last day to place an order is June 10th, 2026, only one day from now! After that, interlibrary loan requests for books will not be processed again until early September.
2. Loan periods for books from other libraries can be granted until July 24, 2026, at the latest. No exceptions will be made. Late returns will result in fees.
3. NOT affected are: Orders for journal articles through our Articles via Interlibrary Loan service, Books available locally in Amberg and Weiden.Need help with your literature research?

Stromabschaltung in MBUT heute ab 18:00 im Bereich des Audimax

In MB/UT kommt es heute ab 18:00 Uhr baubedingt zu einer Abschaltung der Stromversorgung. Betroffen sind das Audimax und der angrenzende Bereich. Auch das Netzwerk und die W-LAN Versorgung sind dort nicht verfügbar.
