  • City Biking 2024

    Study- and Career Service

    Concerns/Category: 

    The "City Biking" campaign is taking place again this year in Amberg and Weiden. The campaign period is May 3-23. All university members can take part at their respective location (Amberg or Weiden).

    The nationwide campaign "Stadtradeln" is taking place again this year. The campaign period in Amberg and in Weiden is May 3 to 23 this year. Teams have been set up again at both locations for which you can collect kilometers and do something for the climate at the same time.

    This is how it works:

    1. Register at www.stadtradeln.de (or reactivate your account from the previous year if you have already taken part)

    2. Select your municipality (Amberg or Weiden, depending on where you study)

    2. select "Einem bestehenden Team beitreten" ("Join an existing team") and then either "OTH Amberg" or "OTH Weiden" (depending on your study location)

    From 3 to 23 May, you can then record every kilometer you cover on your bike (or e-bike) in your Stadtradeln account in the km book or directly via the Stadtradeln app. You do not need to upload any proof.

    We are looking forward to many participants - have fun!!

    With the SKILL student conference, the Gesellschaft für Informatik<https://gi.de/> is now entering its 14th round. The SKILL is the most important GI event for young scientists. The call for papers is online<https://skill.gi.de/>. Until *20th May *you can contributions can be submitted.

    The student conference of the German Informatics Society is aimed at all *students of computer science* and related disciplines. Accepted contributions will be published in a conference proceedings and presented at SKILL on 27 and 28 September 2023 as part of the GI Annual Conference INFORMATIK 2024<https://informatik2024.gi.de/> in Wiesbaden. This gives you a first scientific publication and your participation in the conference will be financially supported.

    🚌 For all those studying in Amberg: We have organized a free shuttle bus for you so that you can also take part as stress-free as possible. You can find the departure times and stops on our homepage.

    📑 Employees of the “Agentur für Arbeit” will take 45 minutes to go through your application documents with you and give you valuable tips on how to improve your CV and your motivation letter.

    ‼️Your registration is only binding once you have uploaded your application documents.

Egal, ob man sich für einen sportlichen Sommer fitmachen oder über den Winter angelegte Pfunde loswerden will: Die richtige Ernährung muss das Sportprogramm ergänzen – sonst nützt jede Anstrengung nichts.

    In der ganzen Nordoberpfalz bereiten sich Läuferinnen und Läufer aktuell auf den beliebten NOFI-Lauf am 08. Mai 2024 in Neustadt an der Waldnaab vor.   • Das Cinerama-Team sucht Unterstützung

    Liebe Kommilitonen,

    es ist wieder Zeit für Filme! Ab heute zeigen wir euch (fast) jeden Montagabend ab 19:00 Uhr einen Film im Audimax.
    Los geht es mit Wonka in OV – Einlass 19:00 Uhr, Beginn 19:30 Uhr, Ort: Audiomax.
    Das Programm für dieses Semester findet ihr im Anhang.

    Wer uns noch nicht kennt:
    Wir, das Cinerama Team, sind eine Gruppe von Studierenden und Mitarbeiter*innen der Hochschule mit der Mission Filmbegeisterte aus der ganzen Hochschule zusammenbringen.

    Als Kino von Studierenden für Studierende sind wir dabei aber immer auch neue Mitwirkende angewiesen, die unser Team unterstützen und dafür sorgen, dass es auch im nächsten Semester wieder Filme gibt.

    Dazu möchten wir alle, die Interesse haben, ganz herzlich zu unserem Semester-Treffen im Vorfeld zu unserem zweiten Film Past Lives einladen.

    Hallo liebe Informatik- und KI-Studierende,

    die Fakultät EMI bietet im September 2024 ein Wahlpflichtfach als Blockveranstaltung an:

    Certified Tester und Security Essentials (CTSE)

    Angebot möglich ab:  MI-4/II-4/GI-4/KI-4/IK-5 (oder höhere Semester)

    Es handelt sich um eine zweiwöchige Blockveranstaltung (5 ECTS / 4 SWS) in den letzten beiden Septemberwochen. Es ist bereits Teil des Wahlpflichtkatalogs. Ich veranstalte das Modul in Kooperation mit der sepp.med GmbH.

    CTSE hat zwei inhaltliche Themenblöcke: Certified Tester entsprechend des international standardisierten Lehrplans (Foundation Level) der ISTQB® sowie Security Essentials entsprechend dem Lehrplan der A4Q®.

    Inhaltsskizze CT: Grundlagentraining für Aufgaben, Methoden und Techniken des Softwaretests.

    Inhaltsskizze SE: Vermittelt die im Security-Umfeld gebräuchlichen Begrifflichkeiten, Aktivitäten und Prozesse, gibt Einblick in typische Gefährdungen, Schwachstellen und Sicherheitsrisiken von IT-Systemen sowie Informationen zum Stand der Technik im Bereich der Cybersecurity und Software-Sicherheit.

  • Pilot projekt for waste separation at the OTH Amberg-Weiden

    Dear students and staff,

     

    On 08.04.2024 a pilot project for waste separation will start at the OTH Amberg-Weiden! This test phase will run until 05.05.2024. This measure is part of our environmental management system at OTH Amberg-Weiden and is being carried out together with the responsible university administration.

    The aim is to test a new waste separation system. After evaluating the results and possible adjustments, the optimised separation system is to be introduced university-wide.

    The following lecture halls have been selected for this:

    Amberg: Lecture halls 202, 205, 219, 110 and Siemens Innovatorium in the building MBUT

    Weiden: HSG Lecture hall 1, canteen, WTC corridor and in BW/WI in rooms 018, 220, 139

    Waste garbage cans for residual waste, plastic and paper are set up there.

    Waste separation serves to protect the environment, conserve resources and increase the recycling rate of our waste. All in all, this is another step towards reducing the burden on the environment at our university!

    Am Donnerstag, den 11. April, ab 19 Uhr im Wintergarten.

    Am Anfang gibt es erstmal einen Crashkurs für Schafkopf, dem bayrischsten Kartenspiel schlechthin, dazu am besten pünktlich kommen. Den restlichen Abend könnt ihr frei karteln (=Karten spielen). Wer einen Kartensatz hat, gerne mitbringen! Für Getränke ist wie immer gesorgt.

  • Going abroad? Appointments for DAAD Language tests

    If you have never attended and passed a language course at our OTH Amberg-Weiden or another university, our language centre offers the possibility to sit an English test twice per semester. Please not that these tests have no Credit Points and are only intended to help you realise a stay abroad (i.e. Erasmus).

    The date for the DAAD English language test in the upcoming summer semester 2024 is:

    • Wed., 27.03.2024 in Amberg from 9.00 Uhr room MB/UT E 024 and
    • Thu.,  25.04.2024 in Weiden from 10.00 Uhr room WTC 1.29

    Please enrol via email for one of these tests.
