The library will soon be switching to a new IT system. As a result, users will face some restrictions on interlibrary loan services.
1. If you need to order interlibrary loans from other libraries in the near future, please place your orders as soon as possible. The last day to place an order is June 10th, 2026, only one week from now! After that, interlibrary loan requests for books will not be processed again until early September.
2. Loan periods for books from other libraries can be granted until July 24, 2026, at the latest. No exceptions will be made. Late returns will result in fees.
3. NOT affected are: Orders for journal articles through our Articles via Interlibrary Loan service, Books available locally in Amberg and Weiden.Need help with your literature research?

Damage in Seminar Room 242 – A call for attention and responsibility

Dear students,
It was with great shock and disbelief that we discovered the extensive damage in Seminar Room 242 on Thursday morning. Three tables have been destroyed; the room has been left in a state that has left us deeply concerned.
You will find some pictures of the tables in the attachement!
We have never before witnessed such a level of destruction and disrespect towards shared spaces at our university.
Even though the perpetrators are currently unknown, the consequences affect us all: damaged furniture, unsightly study and work spaces, broken equipment – and, in the worst case, restrictions on the free use of seminar and common rooms. Spaces such as lecture theatres, the library, the canteen or the Orange Lounge depend on being used responsibly and with trust.
We are talking here about our university. That is why we ask you: do not look the other way if you observe wilful damage, vandalism or disrespectful behaviour towards rooms and equipment. Please speak to us or the university management if you notice anything.
Of course, things can sometimes be damaged accidentally. That is annoying, but no big deal if it is dealt with openly. In such cases too, please do get in touch.
We are counting on your support. Let us work together to ensure that our university remains a place where we enjoy learning, working and coming together.

Please note:
• No grade will be issued without exam registration!
This also applies to make-up exams or courses in which assessments take place during the semester.
• Any exam schedule conflicts must be reported to Ms. Bäuml (a.baeuml@oth-aw.de) by June 5, 2026, at the latest.
• In individual cases, schedule changes may still occur, which will be noted in the exam schedule. Please pay attention to the updates!
• Due to the high number of participants, some exams (especially those in computer labs) must be held in multiple sessions. Please follow the examiners’ instructions and keep an eye on updates to the exam schedules, and make sure to allow plenty of time.

Künstliche Intelligenz ist längst Teil des Studienalltags. Viele nutzen KI bereits zum Lernen, Schreiben, Programmieren oder Recherchieren. Gleichzeitig bleiben wichtige Fragen offen: Was unterstützt Lernen wirklich? Was ist fair? Und wie verändert KI die Zusammenarbeit an Hochschulen?
Genau hier setzt das neue bayernweite Programm KI-Lernlabor an.
Im KI-Lernlabor bringen Sie eigene Erfahrungen, Fragen und Ideen zum Einsatz von KI im Studium ein und entwickeln daraus gemeinsam mit anderen sogenannte Challenges. In interdisziplinären Challenge-Teams arbeiten Studierende mit Lehrenden sowie Mitarbeitenden aus Hochschuldidaktik und digitaler Lehre zusammen. Ziel ist es, konkrete Ideen, Prinzipien und praxisnahe Lösungsansätze für den Umgang mit KI im Studium zu entwickeln.
Sie brauchen dafür weder technisches Vorwissen noch eine fertige Lösung. Entscheidend ist Ihre Perspektive:
Was erleben Sie beim Lernen mit KI? Was empfinden Sie als hilfreich, problematisch, unfair oder ungeklärt?
Der gemeinsame Start ist ein dreitägiges Kick-off in Nürnberg vom 21. bis 23. September 2026. Anschließend arbeiten die Teams über mehrere Etappen hinweg weiter und tauschen sich mit Teilnehmenden aus ganz Bayern aus.
Sie können sich allein oder gemeinsam mit anderen mit einer Idee bewerben.

You have until Sunday (May 24) to submit your film for a chance to win one of the Audience Awards.

Key Details:
re:frame takes place on June 19, 2026, starting at 5:30 PM (doors open at 5:00 PM) at the Ringtheater (Spitalgraben 2, 92224 Amberg).
Advance tickets (€2 per ticket) will be available for purchase in the cafeteria starting next week. On June 19, tickets will also be available at the door (€4 per ticket).
We look forward to seeing lots of film-loving fellow students and staff members. Naturally, visitors from outside the university are also warmly welcome. So feel free to bring along your friends and family!
