Documents for LaTeX users

The text typesetting software LaTeX has been the standard for scientific papers in the natural sciences and engineering for decades. Due to demand, this page provides templates for the creation of theses or presentations in corporate design in addition to the LaTeX courses offered at the faculty.

Template for a Bachelor's/Master's thesis at the EMI faculty

Based on the guidelines for writing theses at the EMI faculty, a corresponding template was created as part of the ‘LaTeX for studying’ course. This already contains all the necessary forms etc. and may be downloaded, used, adapted or passed on without restriction.

Contents of the git repository:

  • master.tex: Main document of the template, which makes all settings and integrates the forms and chapters
  • master.pdf: Demo of the template with dummy content
  • formblatt_selbstaendigkeitserklaerung.tex: Confirmation acc.  § 27 (8) ASPO
  • formblatt_summary.tex: predefined summary
  • kapitel1.tex and kapitel2.tex: Sample chapter with dummy content to illustrate the integration of the individual chapters through the main document
  • quellen.bib: Example BibTeX file (literature sources)
  • Makefile: File for automatic building using "make" of the document master.pdf

Presentation template according to the corporate design

The following template provides the OTHAWbeamer.cls class derived from Beamer, which was developed according to the university's PowerPoint template.  When using it, make sure that both the class file and the associated image files are either in the same directory as the presentation to be created or in the search path.

The oth-aw-beamer.pdf file generated with the template itself already contains numerous instructions and examples for use.

Contents of the git repository:

  • OTHAWbeamer.cls: Class file that enables presentations in the corporate design of OTH Amberg-Weiden
  • oth-aw-beamer.tex and oth-aw-beamer.pdf: Example to illustrate the use of the template (source code and output file), also describes options and further information with regard to fonts directly in the demo file.
  • Presentation itself
  • Makefile: File for automatic building using "make" of the document master.pdf
  • bin/*: Conversion scripts from svg to pdf
  • images/*: Image folder with png/svg/pdf files for the OTH logo
