Introducing the SDC

The Student Development Center (SDC) brings together a range of services to support students in diverse starting situations, particularly during the initial phase of their studies.

Through personal advice, tailored support, and early assistance, we create opportunities for a successful academic journey. Even in challenging times, we provide guidance, offer motivating impulses, and advise on all matters relating to study financing. Together, we shape prospects that promote equal opportunities and personal development in a sustainable way.

Talent Support: Students receive assistance with information on various scholarships and help with applications to suitable funding organisations. Additionally, a network of scholarship holders and sponsors is being established and expanded.

Early Warning System: Students who face difficulties with academic demands in their early semesters are proactively contacted through the innovative early warning system “students@risk” and invited to comprehensive counselling regarding available support options.

Orientation Programme: For prospective students still uncertain about their course choice, we offer the orientation programme prepareING. This allows them to take modules from different degree programmes over one or two semesters, helping them to confirm their decision for a particular course or to consider alternatives. PLEASE MIND: prepareING IS NOT a preparatory course in the sense of Studienkolleg.
