Project description

The MINTeGreat project is part of DAAD’s FIT programme “Campus Initiative for International Talents” and addresses international STEM students.

DAAD, along with funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, supports German universities in preparing prospective international students for the challenges of studying in Germany, the integration into their professional studies, and the subsequent transition into the German job market.

The FIT programme promotes the buildup of measures for study preparation, academic support, and academic success for international students at German universities.

On April 1, 2024, the FIT programme launched with a total of 89 projects nationwide. The MINTeGreat project subdivides into 4 modules:

Study Preparation

International students can attend our German A1- B2 immersion courses before enrolling in their professional studies. From enrollment on, students will receive support with integration and the start of studies.

Academic Support

During the studies, subject-specific German language courses are offered (e. g. professional German language training or German for Engineers), as well as seminars and workshops about living and studying in Germany.

Employability

This module prepares students for the German job market.
Job application trainings, workshops on labour culture in German companies, and mentor programmes are offered.

Labour Market Integration

Finally, the last module is all about networking with potential employers. Networking events with partner companies promotes career entry.

MINTeGreat is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the FIT programme “Campus Initiative for International Talents”. The project started in 2024 and will continue until the end of 2028.
