RISE: Northern Bavaria Business Plan Competition

Would you like individual expert feedback on your business idea from successful entrepreneurs and investors?
Would you like to raise the profile of your start-up or make your idea more visible? Then take part in the Northern Bavaria Business Plan Competition!
When? The application deadline is January 13, 2026.
Where? Register via the BayStartUP website.
Who? Anyone who can describe their business idea and the customer benefits of their product or solution.
After registering on the website, you can take part in free business planning tutorials from BayStartUP to prepare. A 7-page business outline focusing on the idea and customer benefits is sufficient for the competition.
The Business Plan Competition Northern Bavaria will award this:- Feedback from a renowned jury of experts including serial founders, business angels, VCs & Co.
- Prize money totaling € 85,000
- Visibility in the BayStartUP network and in the public eye
- Online tutorials, (free) coaching sessions
- Exclusive events and access to the investor network

RISE: Funding Start?Zuschuss!

Applications for the Start?Zuschuss! funding program for 2025/2026 opened this week.
When? Applications can be submitted until January 9, 2026, at 12 noon.
Where? Applications can be submitted online via the Gründerland Bayern website.
Who? Start-ups with a particularly sustainable, innovative business model in the field of digitalization that were founded no earlier than January 10, 2021, are eligible to participate.
Start?Zuschuss! aims to provide founders with straightforward support in the early stages. The program therefore provides funding for personnel, rent, product launches, research, and development. It covers 50% of eligible expenses up to a maximum of €36,000.

RISE: CONNECT+ at STADTLABOR+ Amberg

Together with our partner, the Amberg Economic Development Agency, we, the RISE, are organizing an open event in Amberg during the nationwide Start-up Week: CONNECT+ at STADTLABOR+.
When? Thursday, November 20, 2025, starting at 6 p.m.
Where? Stadtlabor + (Bahnhofstraße 10, 92224 Amberg)
Who? Founders, start-ups, companies, and supporters from the region, as well as anyone interested in the topic of start-ups.
The focus will be on a discussion with former founders Timo Schertel and Tom Haberl, who have successfully sold their start-ups. Together, they will share insights into their experiences and discuss exit as a strategic option for founders in a moderated discussion. Following the talk, participants/companies will have the opportunity to present their own projects or questions in an open pitch round. At the end, there will be an opportunity for open networking over drinks and snacks.

This Wednesday, the start-up support invites you to an event on financing start-up ideas, start-ups, and self-employment for women.
When? Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Who? Interested female students, employees, and founders
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with keynote speeches by Julia Pirzer (IHK Regensburg für Oberpfalz / Kelheim) on “From idea to capital: Financing options for female founders” and by Sandra Koos (Sparkasse Oberpfalz Nord) on "From business plan to financing: Tips from banking practice."
Afterwards, both will discuss with two other female executives and founders: Prof. Dr. Julia Kreppmeier (junior professor at OTH Amberg-Weiden in the field of finance) and Verena Messer (Guardify founding team). At the end, everyone will be available to answer questions from the audience.
