Research and Transfer Office

Supporting the journey from funding concept to societal impact

The Office for Research and Transfer is the central hub for research, technology and knowledge transfer, and science communication at OTH Amberg-Weiden. We support researchers, professors, and early-career academics in the planning, application, and implementation of research and transfer projects. Acting as a university-wide interface, the office connects academia, business, industry, and society.
We provide advice on funding programs and external grants, assist with research proposals, and enhance the visibility of research conducted at OTH Amberg-Weiden. Furthermore, we offer support regarding science communication, collaborations, and knowledge transfer activities. We also coordinate doctoral studies at our university.
Our goal is to create optimal conditions for successful research and to foster innovative projects in a sustainable manner.

  • Advice on aligning individual research with the university’s research profile
  • Assistance in identifying suitable funding programs—ranging from regional to international levels
  • Guidance on grant applications and the strategic orientation of research projects and doctoral procedures
  • Commitment to improving the framework conditions for research
  • Advice on doctoral opportunities and cooperative doctoral models at OTH Amberg-Weiden

Communication

Visibility of research for mutual transfer

Making research visible, accessible and relatable.

We support researchers in communicating their projects, results, and impact in a way that is clear, targeted, and compliant with funding requirements:

  • Strategic planning of institutional research communication and external science communication
  • Advice on science communication and the presentation of impact in grant proposals
  • Support in selecting suitable communication formats for diverse target audiences
  • Operational assistance with implementation, e.g., for website content and social media formats

Our focus is on authentic communication that remains close to the science and makes research visible.

Technology transfer

Putting research into exchange and application

Share knowledge and thus shape innovation together.

We foster exchange between academia, industry, policymakers, and society, creating spaces for knowledge transfer and networking:

  • Publications and information channels such as newsletters, research reports, and social media
  • Internal event formats, e.g., research forums or workshops on key current topics
  • Knowledge transfer activities and networking initiatives with external partners
  • Support for external events such as academic congresses, conferences, and outreach programs 
  • Use of transfer and technology centers as hubs for exchange and practical application
