Course format

The course consists of synchronous lecture and exercise sessions as well as asynchronous learning opportunities in the moodle course.

The synchronous sessions are split evenly between video conferences and in-person block sessions. After every lecture you can practise with interactive exercises at your own pace. Right before the next lecture there will be an exercise session where the exercises will be discussed in depth.

The course ends with a voluntary and 90-minute in-person final test. In the International Business program, the result of the test can be credited as a bonus towards the Business Mathematics exam.

Curriculum

In the lectures, we will review, among other things, the following topics:

  • Real numbers, fractions, logarithms
  • Equalities and inequalities
  • Systems of linear equations
  • Proportionality and percentage calculation
  • Functions (properties, power functions, linear and quadratic functions, exponential and logarithmic functions)

The sessions are largely independent of each other, therefore, it is possible to skip sessions.
