Language Admission Requirements for studying at the OTH Amberg-Weiden

German-language study programmes

The majority of the study programmes at OTH Amberg-Weiden have German as the language of instruction. For these study programmes, the language requirement is usually German B2 and C1 respectively.

Therefore, applicants who have not obtained their study qualification at a German-speaking institution must provide proof of German language skills in order to enrol at OTH Amberg-Weiden. The necessary requirements vary - more information on the required language levels and recognised language certificates can be found in the respective course descriptions or examination regulations.

As a rule, the following language certificates are accepted:

  •    DSH
  •    TestDaf
  •    ÖSD
  •    Goethe
  •    Telc

As a rule, the following language certificates are accepted:

for English B2:

  •     AKS UNIcert II or III
  •     TOEFL iBT (no Home edition)
  •     IELTS
  •     TOEIC
  •     PTE Academic
  •     Oxford Test of English
  •     Cambridge English Qualification
  •     FCE
  •     CAE

For German A2:

  •     Goethe
  •     Telc
  •     ÖSD
  •    German A2.2 at the OTH Amberg-Weiden*

 

          * Both the speaking skills exam and the written exam must be passed with a minimum grade of 4.0.

             A minimum attendance of 75% is mandatory for participation in the speaking skills exam at the time of the exam!
