Why is this necessary? During the first two stages of your studies, you should acquire the technical and linguistic skills necessary to enter the German labour market at the start of the practical study semester and to be able to complete the third stage of your studies partly in German, provided you choose the appropriate specialisation module. To this end, you will use Basic Electives 1-4, which are specified in more detail in the module handbook. In order to enable you to acquire these skills within the first two study sections, you must already demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the German language at the start of your studies by providing proof of language proficiency in accordance with level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

  • Proof is not required if the university entrance qualification or a university degree has already been obtained in German.

If you have any questions about application, admissions, enrolment and semester fees, etc., please contact Kathrin Forster.

The final decision on admission to the degree programme is made by the examination board.

*Your secondary school credentials need to be assessed here in Germany by a recognized institution (e.g UniAssist) by the end of the application period. You may apply online at the OTH before, but you will not receive a placement offer until the VPD report of your credentials is uploaded to the application portal PRIMUSS. Applicants should allow enough time for the assessment as this can take up to six weeks.
