Examinations

In the course of your studies, you take examinations to determine your performance in the subjects of your degree programme. The examination subjects are specified in the study and examination regulations or in the module handbook of your degree programme.

In addition to these examinations, you will also be required to provide evidence of academic achievement in accordance with the study and examination regulations for your degree programme. The completion of these course-related certificates is partly a prerequisite for admission to the examination subjects.

You can find the form of the examination in the module handbook of your degree programme.

You must register for all examinations in due time via the binding online examination registration. The date for the examination registration is set by the examination board for each semester and announced publicly by the university.

Prerequisite for admission to the examination is, among other things

  • that the registration has been made on timethat the student is enrolled at the university in the relevant degree programme
  • that the required course-related certificates of achievement and proof of participation are available for admission
  • that a preceding practical semester has been completed as required by the respective study and examination regulations.

If you have any questions regarding the examinations or the examination registration, please contact the Studients’ Office.

Repeat examinations

In examination subjects in which an insufficient final grade was achieved, the examination performances can be repeated. A first and second repetition is possible in all examination performances. A third repetition is only possible once during the entire degree programme.
Repeat examinations take place on the regular examination dates in the examination period. The first repeat examination must be taken at the next possible examination date, i.e. in the next semester. You have one year for the second and third repeat examinations.
The final paper (Bachelor's thesis / Master's thesis) can only be repeated once. Here, the registration for the second thesis must be made no later than six months after the assessment of the first thesis.

If you have any questions or uncertainties, please contact the Students’ Office.

Examination boards

The examination boards are the examination committee and the examination commissions. The respective responsibilities result from the framework examination regulations for the universities in Bavaria.
