Objectives and structure

Have you always wanted to study abroad? Do innovation and management, Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things and digitalisation topics interest you? Would you like to know how they are interrelated and how they can be applied in industry?

Did you answer yes to these questions? Then study Industrial Engineering at the OTH Amberg-Weiden!

The English-taught bachelor’s degree programme, aligning with the German qualification framework for industrial engineering, includes technical and business components as well as interdisciplinary modules.

The degree programme will qualify you globally as a sought-after, all-round talent for industry and provide you withamazing global opportunities.

In the engineering section of the programme, you will learn the fundamentals of such subjects like mathematics or CAD, as well as advanced topics such as robotics or automation. The management part concentrates on business management skills as they are used in the industrial sector, like business process management or marketing and sales. You will have valuable cultural exchanges and gain interdisciplinary language skills, but also deal with overarching disciplines such as logistics or software development.

Commencing from the 6th semester, you can choose your own modules from a wide-ranging catalogue of electives and thus determine your own specialisation. Whether you want to dig deeper into management or you would prefer to become an automation expert, the choice is yours!

The lectures are enhanced with a strong practical alignment through interactive teaching formats and a large number of laboratories (e.g. SAPbased Smart Factory or 3D printing lab). Contemporary topics such as Industry 4.0, Big Data, Smart Factory or artificial intelligence are taught by our motivated and experienced professors. Our modern university also has a strong focus on industrial cooperations. This is realised through excursions to engineering companies, trade fairs, guest lectures by industry experts and business and industry-related student projects.
