Wakeboarding, Meetups and a Charity run

My May in Hong Kong

Hey everybody,

I hope you're fine wherever you are!

May was a month full of events and activities. One of the best ways to spend a free days is without doubt on a boat in the sea, not necessarily only for party, but also for wakeboarding..

It is easy to learn when a group of 5 friends pays together to enter a speedboat and have a private teacher for some hours. We did that some weeks ago and it's great fun - a combination of sports, good music and fresh air.  The teacher's instructions were perfect so all of us could get up and improve.

MeetUps

Another great way of spending a free evening is joining a meetup. The bigger the city the more opportunities you have. Whether you are interested in food, drinks, hiking,  sports, art or movies there are plenty of meetups everywhere. The ones I joined are mostly language meetups, but of course languages are not the only topic. I usually go there alone and every time new people show up so you introduce yourself, talk about what brought you there and talk about anything you are interested in. Sometimes there are discussion rounds and one person presents the group's opinion in front of the others. This is perfect for practicing public speaking as it is a friendly environment and there is no pressure of grades or being judged.  In my opinion this is one of the best and easiest ways to make new friends, network, learn new things about HK or other countries and practice any language you want.

Running

Even if it is extremely hot these days I go running at least 3-4 times a week. As I live close to the sea I run at the promenade, where a fresh breeze makes the activity more enjoyable. Last Sunday we had a company run about 10 km and I'm quite happy with the result.

Next weeks

Next weekend I will be in South Korea for Ultra , which is a 3 day lasting music festival in Seoul. I will fly there a bit earlier as there were meetup events in different places as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong and one day before the festival all groups will gather and then go together. After that a good old German friend of mine will visit me here and of course I will be in Singapore sooner or later to visit the University I was attending during my Study abroad  semester and my friends who are still there.

Until next time,

Sergio
