  • EMI Faculty: Enrolment in SWP/WP modules, projects and ‘elective modules in content and media design’ – summer semester 2026

    Dear students,

    the enrolment for all [programme-specific] elective modules in the Bachelor's programmes offered by the EMI Faculty, the ‘Elective Modules in Content and Media Design’ (MT programme) and the projects (EI, II, MI, MT, MP, EDU) as well as for all elective modules in the MAI Master's programme for the 2026 summer semester will begin on Monday, 17 November 2025, at 6 p.m.

    The first registration week is intended for initial registration for elective modules.
    The second registration week offers all students who have chosen an elective module that cannot be offered

    An enrolment at the beginning of the 2026 summer semester is no longer possible!

    The corresponding SWP/WP module and project catalogues will be available on the homepage from 13 November 2025.

    Dieser findet im Rahmen des Gesundheitsmanagements an der OTH AW und in Kooperation mit unserer Hochschulseelsorge (Herr Markus Lommer) sowie der Techniker Krankenkasse (Herr Andreas Schaller) statt.

    🏋🏼‍♂️ WAS GENAU: Ganzkörpertraining

    Julian Kaltenecker von HOHPE bietet dir ein 60-minütiges ganzheitliches Training für deinen gesamten Körper an, bei dem du hauptsächlich dein eigenes Körpergewicht nutzt.

    Durch abwechslungsreiche Übungen werden alle wichtigen Muskelgruppen aktiviert: Beine, Rumpf, Rücken, Arme und Schultern. Dabei werden Aspekte wie Kraft, Ausdauer, Mobilität und Dehnung ganz nach deinen individuellen Vorlieben berücksichtigt.

    Egal, ob du Einsteiger oder Fortgeschrittener bist – jede Übung kann individuell an dein Fitnesslevel angepasst werden.

    The VDE YOUNG NET university group is an association of students who want to make a difference together and network with other like-minded people. The first item on the agenda for next spring is a joint lecture event with VDE Bavaria, at which the OTH university group will also be presented. In addition, joint activities such as workshops and excursions to companies (e.g. Siemens, Scherdel, Nexans, etc.) are planned. The university group aims to network with other universities in Eastern Bavaria and carry out joint activities.

  • Application period for the BHS scholarship: November 3 to December 12, 2025

    Starting this week, it is once again possible to apply for the BHS scholarship. In addition to financial support, the scholarship includes a working student contract with BHS Corrugated and many other interesting opportunities.

    Dear students,

    Monday marked the start of the application period for the BHS scholarship, which is aimed in particular at students in your degree program who have already successfully completed one year of study.

    Due to the special nature of the scholarship, it is also compatible with the Germany Scholarship—if you are already a Germany Scholarship recipient, you can benefit from double funding in this case.

    In addition to financial support in the form of the scholarship, you will also have the opportunity to work as a working student at BHS (additional remuneration separate from the scholarship!) and complete your practical semester or thesis there. For further details, please refer to the announcement in the attachment.

  • RISE: CONNECT+ at STADTLABOR+ Amberg

    Start-up consulting

    Together with our partner, the Amberg Economic Development Agency, we, the RISE, are organizing an open event in Amberg during the nationwide Start-up Week: CONNECT+ at STADTLABOR+.

    When? Thursday, November 20, 2025, starting at 6 p.m.

    Where? Stadtlabor + (Bahnhofstraße 10, 92224 Amberg)

    Who? Founders, start-ups, companies, and supporters from the region, as well as anyone interested in the topic of start-ups.

    The focus will be on a discussion with former founders Timo Schertel and Tom Haberl, who have successfully sold their start-ups. Together, they will share insights into their experiences and discuss exit as a strategic option for founders in a moderated discussion. Following the talk, participants/companies will have the opportunity to present their own projects or questions in an open pitch round. At the end, there will be an opportunity for open networking over drinks and snacks.

    Liebe Erstsemester-Studierende,

    zum Sommersemester 26 startet der neue Studiengang „Angewandte Wirtschaftsinformatik (AWI)“ mit dem Abschluss B.Sc.

    AWI wird die bisherigen Studiengänge DIB und LD ablösen.

    Für die Übergangszeit bieten wir euch einmalig die Chance, von DIB oder LD zu AWI zu wechseln und bisher erbrachte Leistungen des ersten Semesters mitzunehmen.

    Infos zum AWI-Studiengang und wie ein Wechsel ablaufen würde, teile ich am Mittwoch, 5.11., am Ende der Orga-Vorlesung bei Prof. Pitzl.

    Für alle Interessierten wäre dies die ideale Gelegenheit, Fragen gemeinsam zu klären.

    At both companies, we will hear a presentation on sustainability and strategic management and be given a tour of the company.     We will travel to both companies by bus. Everything is free of charge. We will meet in front of the OTH cafeteria for departure. We will also return to the OTH.

    This Wednesday, the start-up support invites you to an event on financing start-up ideas, start-ups, and self-employment for women.

    Who? Interested female students, employees, and founders

    The event will begin at 6 p.m. with keynote speeches by Julia Pirzer (IHK Regensburg für Oberpfalz / Kelheim) on “From idea to capital: Financing options for female founders” and by Sandra Koos (Sparkasse Oberpfalz Nord) on "From business plan to financing: Tips from banking practice."

    Afterwards, both will discuss with two other female executives and founders: Prof. Dr. Julia Kreppmeier (junior professor at OTH Amberg-Weiden in the field of finance) and Verena Messer (Guardify founding team). At the end, everyone will be available to answer questions from the audience.

    • On Monday, November 17, 2025, the highlight of the winter semester will begin: Inspiration & Startup Night will once again offer two outstanding keynotes, the opportunity to submit your own sessions, and the chance to get to know the start-up scene in Northern Upper Palatinate, starting at 6 p.m. in the Weiden lecture hall building.
    • For students, university staff, and alumni whose ideas are still in their early stages or who are generally interested in the topic of start-ups, we are once again offering virtual initial consultations this week on Thursday between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Just click on this link to join us.

    Does the mere thought of exams make your heart race and your throat tighten? For many students, exam season means not only hard work, but also intense pressure to perform and sometimes even anxiety. But don't panic: you're not alone!

    In the Expert Talk ‘Calmness for the exam period’, you will learn strategies and tips on how to deal with exam stress and anxiety. The speakers will explain what anxiety actually is, why it also has positive sides, and how you can reduce stress and worries.

    📅 On 3 December 2025 at 5 p.m., you will get exactly the tools you need to get through exam time in a more relaxed manner!

    wenn Ihr Lust habt, neben Eurem Studium an spannenden Projekten in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit mitzuwirken oder diese umzusetzen, seid Ihr bei Technik ohne Grenzen genau richtig! 

    Wir veranstalten 

    am 14.10.2025
    um 19:00 Uhr 
    im Raum MBUT 220 

    einen Infoabend, an dem sich der Verein Technik ohne Grenzen und unsere Regionalgruppe vorstellt. 

    Hier könnt Ihr Euch gemeinsam mit Freunden treffen und nebenbei an Projekten arbeiten. Dabei könnt Ihr Softskills wie z.B. interkulturelle Kompetenz und Teamfähigkeit trainieren, neue Kontakte knüpfen und das im Studium erlernte Wissen in der Praxis einbringen. 

    Euer Engagement wird von Technik ohne Grenzen durch kostenfreie und professionelle Projektleiterworkshops unterstützt. 
    Hier könnt Ihr die wichtigsten Grundlagen der Projektplanung erlernen, um diese anschließend innerhalb von Projekten anzuwenden.
    In unserer Regionalgruppe gibt es auch viele nicht-technische Bereiche, wie z.B. den Arbeitskreis Public Relations, in denen Ihr Euch entfalten könnt! 

    Wir freuen uns, Euch bei einem anschließendem Get-together mit Kneipentour besser kennenzulernen!
