Hallo liebe Informatik- und KI-Studierende,
die Fakultät EMI bietet im September 2025 ein Bachelor-Wahlpflichtfach an: Certified Tester und Security Essentials (CTSE).
Ihnen als Masterstudierende können wir leider derzeit das Modul NICHT mit ECTS anrechnen. Ich möchte Sie aber dennoch über dessen Existenz informieren, welches Sie als reines Wahlfach, ohne ECTS-Verbuchung in Ihrem Curriculum, besuchen können, rein aus intrinsischer Motivation für das Thema.
Es handelt sich um eine zweiwöchige Blockveranstaltung (5 ECTS / 4 SWS) in den letzten beiden Septemberwochen. Ich veranstalte das Modul in Kooperation mit der sepp.med GmbH.

Hallo liebe Informatik- und KI-Studierende,
die Fakultät EMI bietet im September 2025 ein Wahlpflichtfach als Blockveranstaltung an:
Certified Tester und Security Essentials (CTSE)
Angebot möglich ab:
MI-4/II-4/GI-4/KI-4/IK-5 (oder höhere Semester)
Es handelt sich um eine zweiwöchige Blockveranstaltung (5 ECTS / 4 SWS) in den letzten beiden September-wochen. Formell gehört es aus Sicht des Prüfungsamts bereits zum Wintersemester. Es ist schon seit einer Weile Teil des Wahlpflichtkatalogs. Ich veranstalte das Modul in Kooperation mit der sepp.med GmbH.
CTSE hat zwei inhaltliche Themenblöcke: Certified Tester entsprechend des international standardisierten Lehrplans (Foundation Level) der ISTQB® sowie Security Essentials entsprechend dem Lehrplan der A4Q®.
Inhaltsskizze CT: Grundlagentraining für Aufgaben, Methoden und Techniken des Softwaretests.
Inhaltsskizze SE: Vermittelt die im Security-Umfeld gebräuchlichen Begrifflichkeiten, Aktivitäten und Prozesse, gibt Einblick in typische Gefährdungen, Schwachstellen und Sicherheitsrisiken von IT-Systemen sowie Informationen zum Stand der Technik im Bereich der Cybersecurity und Software-Sicherheit.

Diesmal mit einem münchner Feature Artist: Dem amtierenden bayrischen Meister Julius Althoetmar!Einen Getränkeverkauf gibt es wieder von den lieben Technikern ohne Grenzen.
Falls du dich noch fragst, was ist eigentlich ein Poetry Slam? Es ist kurz gesagt ein moderner Dichterwettstreit. Poet:innen treten mit eigenen Texte auf und das Publikum kürt eine Sieger:in. Die Texte müssen keine bestimmte Form haben, sie müssen nur selbstverfasst sein und innerhalb des Zeitlimits von 6 min bleiben.
Egal ob Studi oder nicht, ob aus Amberg oder von wo anders, alle sind herzlich zum Campus Poetry Slam eingeladen!

Heating switched off from 23.05.
Dear students,
due to the ongoing construction work, the heating network at the Amberg campus will have to be switched off completely from Friday, 23 May. The shutdown will last up to a week.
We therefore ask you to prepare for possibly lower room temperatures from Friday and to dress accordingly.
Depending on the outside temperatures afterwards, the heating will either be switched on again or remain switched off.

Please save the date for the important exam info session for the Summer Semester 2025 on Tuesday, 3 June taking place starting from 11:30 a.m. in HSG MF.
This info session is strongly recommended for first semester DTM students or those from higher semesters that arrived late on campus and have yet to go through a round of exams. DD DTM students are also encouraged to attend.
We will discuss the specificities of exams at OTH Amberg-Weiden and in your programme, what you must and can do to be fully prepared and also answer any questions that you might have on the topic.

On May 23 from 2.30 to 6.30 p.m. there will be a workshop at the OTH in Weiden (HS 120)

Fit for the exam - time & stress management for students
Location: Weiden, Postgasse 1, 1st floor
The language of instruction (German and/or English) will depend on the wishes of the majority of participants (please specify when registering).
The workshop offers concrete strategies on how students can master their exams successfully, with less stress and more structure.

- Techniques for effective learning planning and prioritizing exam content
- Stress management strategies to calm down in stressful situations
- Methods for overcoming exam anxiety and nervousness

Under the motto “Start-ups meet Students”, selected start-up teams from East Bavarian universities will present themselves and their start-up projects in short pitches and then discuss their vacant positions. We are looking for co-founders, permanent team members, final-year students, working students and interns. Afterwards, interested students have the opportunity to get to know the founders better in break-out sessions and to network in a relaxed atmosphere.

Amberg Library: Shorter opening hours until the end of May

Due to staff absence due to illness, the library in Amberg is reducing its regular opening hours until the end of May.
Monday to Thursday: 9 am - 4 pm
Friday: 9 am - 2 pmIn justified exceptional cases, external users can arrange to collect or return books at a later time after prior notification by email.
The 24-hour opening hours are of course available to university members with authorisation as usual.
