    Dear students,

    learning together is often easier – but, especially at the beginning of your degree, it’s not always easy to find the right study partners. 
    This is where the online Matching Day  of the Competence Centre for Fundamental Subjects (CCG) comes in. 
    Here, you can meet people in breakout rooms that have already been organised, with whom you can form a study group.

    Matching Day takes place on 26 and 27 October, starting at around 6 pm. You’ll receive further details on the programme once you’ve registered.

    Sign up by 16 October 2026 and meet other students who are a good fit for you.

  • energy4kids am unterrichtsfreien Buß-& Bettag in Amberg

    energy4kids – Kinderbetreuung für den Nachwuchs von Studierenden und Mitarbeitenden der OTH, in Kooperation mit den Stadtwerken Amberg.
    Am Buß- und Bettag (18.11.2026) erwartet eure Kinder am Standort Amberg ein abwechslungsreicher energy4kids-Tag. Das Motto dieses Jahr lautet „Energie entdecken – von der Erde bis ins Weltall“. Das Angebot richtet sich an Kinder von 6 bis 14 Jahren.

    Interessierte Studierende können in Begleitung von Stefan Breunig im Rahmen einer Exkursion Social-Media-Content erstellen und sich darüber austauschen.

    Studierende, die sich übers Exkursionsportal bis 10.11.2026 anmelden, erhalten vor Ort 10 € Fartkostenerstattung (Fahrgemeinschaften werden in Eigenorganisation empfohlen).

    Liebe Studierende,

    bitte bringen Sie die Anträge auf Anerkennung mit allen notwendigen Belegen (offizielle Notenbestätigung der Hochschule und Modulbeschreibung des jeweiligen Moduls) im Studienbüro vorbei.
    Sollten Sie Fragen zur Anerkennung haben, wenden Sie sich bitte per E-Mail an Frau Winter: d.winter@oth-aw.de oder kommen Sie während der gewöhnlichen Öffnungszeiten (Montag bis Freitag von 09:00 Uhr bis 12:00 Uhr) im Studienbüro Amberg vorbei.

    Die Anträge sind nur im ersten oder zweiten Studiensemester innerhalb der ersten 4 Wochen im Semester möglich.

  • Masterseminar WiSe 26/27 -

    Liebe Kursteilnehmer,

    zunächst möchte ich darauf hinweisen, dass sich diese Info auch an diejenigen richtet, die bereits den Schein für das Masterseminar haben. Auch diejenigen sind eingeladen, bei den Online-Sitzungen des Masterseminars vorbeizuschauen, wenn sie Fragen haben.

    Für alle Anderen gilt: Sie müssen insgesamt 3 mal an einer Online-Sitzung des Online-Masterseminars teilgenommen haben, um den Schein im Masterseminar zu bekommen. Weil sich bei den Meisten der Bearbeitungszeitraum nicht an die Semesterzeiten hält, können Sie gerne die Online-Termine über zwei Semester nutzen, um dann insgesamt auf 3 Anwesenheiten bei Online-Sitzungen zu kommen. Gleich im ersten Semester Ihres Masterstudiums das Masterseminar zu besuchen, macht wenig Sinn. Im zweiten oder besser im dritten Semester genügt das vollkommen.

    Es gibt keine Einführungsveranstaltung in Präsenz mit Anwesenheitspflicht. Wir starten gleich online. Wir nutzen wie in den letzten Semestern das Online-Tool BBB. BBB steht für BigBlueButton. Sie kennen sich damit ja bereits aus.

    Um sich beim Masterseminar anmelden zu können, benötigen Sie folgendes Passwort: Seminar

    Den Zugang finden Sie in unserem moodle-Ordner „MP-Masterseminar (Müller)". Der Themenordner heisst: BBB für Masterseminar. Gehen Sie bitte da rein und drücken Sie den Teilnehmen-Button. So einfach ist das.

  • Update: Einschreibung in das Projektmodul "Studioproduktion" - Prof. Löhr

    Liebe Studierende im Master Medientechnik und Medienproduktion,

    In diesem Wintersemester habt ihr im Projektmodul die einmalige Gelegenheit, eine eigene TV-Studioproduktion 
    von Grund auf zu entwickeln und live umzusetzen.

    Von der ersten Idee über Formatentwicklung, Redaktion und Studioplanung bis hin zur fertigen Sendung liegt die Produktion in euren Händen. 
    Ob Gameshow, Satire-Magazin, Quizshow oder ein völlig neues Format – Thema, Konzept und Umsetzung sind frei.

    Das Ziel: Wir produzieren live im Studio und streamen die Sendung direkt ins Netz.

    Gesucht werden mindestens10 bis maximal 15 Studierende, die Lust haben, gemeinsam eine professionelle Studioproduktion auf die Beine zu stellen
    und dabei die unterschiedlichen Rollen vor und hinter der Kamera zu übernehmen.

    Da die Plätze begrenzt sind, erfolgt die Vergabe nach Eingang der Anmeldungen per Mail.

    Wichtig:
    Auf dem Schwarzen Brett war in den vergangenen Tagen noch ein Einschreibeschlüssel angegeben. 
    Aus organisatorischen Gründen erfolgt die Anmeldung nun ausschließlich per E-Mail.
    Hinweis: 
    Für die Durchführung des Projektmoduls werden mindestens 10 Studierende benötigt.

  • System migration at the library successfully completed: new OPAC and more options for loans

    On August 25th, following months of preparation in collaboration with the Verbundzentrale of the Bavarian Library Network, FOLIO—our new library management system—went live.

    FOLIO stands for “The future of libraries is open,” and that holds true in every respect.

    The system is completely open source; all data is stored on servers at the Leibniz Computing Center and not, for example, in the cloud of an international provider. This ensures that we retain control over all catalog, circulation, and user data at all times.

     

    And what new features does FOLIO offer you, our users?

    • First and foremost, a new, more modern OPAC: https://katalog.oth-aw.de/ 

       

    • The OPAC login process is also changing: University members (i.e., students and staff) can now log in using their university ID and the corresponding password.

       

    • Longer loan periods—automatic renewals are now available: In addition to the standard 4-week loan period, borrowed books are automatically renewed 5 times (for students) or 4 times (for external users), each time for an additional four weeks.
      If there are no holds on the item, students can keep borrowed books for up to 6 months, and external users for up to 5 months.

       

    • OTH AW staff now have a loan period of 3 years, with two automatic renewals.
      If there are no holds, staff members can keep borrowed books for up to 9 years.

       

    • Change to the interlibrary loan service for articles: With the switch to FOLIO, the direct download link for users—which was previously included in the email notification—is no longer available.
      Downloads are now available via the interlibrary loan account, which can be accessed after logging into OPAC via Account -> Orders -> Interlibrary Loan Orders (https://katalog.oth-aw.de/vufind/Holds/List). (This is also stated in the confirmation email that you will continue to receive upon successful completion of your order.)

       

     

    As with any system change, we naturally still have a few areas that need work, but we’re already working hard to address them.
    Currently, the self-service checkout system is not yet available. If you’d like to borrow books, please come to the circulation desk for the time being.
    The interlibrary loan service for books is also still in development; we hope to be able to offer this service again in early to mid-September. However, the interlibrary loan service for articles should already be up and running again.

    Finally, a small request: most of the new developments and changes are falling on us as the library team, since some of the workflows are now completely different in the new system. So please be patient if things move a bit more slowly here over the next few weeks while we’re still getting familiar with the system.

    We’re very much looking forward to offering you an even better, more efficient, and more appealing service with FOLIO in the future!
